Qualified emergency services members provide assessment of a medical situation, intervention, stabilization, and monitored transport to a medical facility. Right now, there is a critical need for new volunteers to keep these services available.Įmergency services volunteers serve on call, and respond to emergencies such as motor vehicle crashes, fires, rescue operations, and a wide variety of medical situations including heart attacks, strokes, illness and injuries. The volunteers are valued and their service is vital. The Emergency Services Department has the responsibility to support public safety agencies, programs and initiatives that protect the people, institutions and culture of Delaware County.These agencies provide supreme emergency services to over 1,446 square miles of mountains, valleys, and back roads, which isn't easy but these men and women who give their time and talents truly care about their communities. This mission of the Department is accomplished through the Divisions of Emergency Management, Special Operations Group and Emergency Communications. The new tool will tie into Delaware Countys 911 dispatch to alert CPR-trained individuals of medical emergencies so they can provide assistance in the. The Emergency Services Department under the direction of Timothy Boyce, has the responsibility for two major County services, namely Emergency Communications and Emergency Management. Timothy Boyce is the Director of Emergency Services for the County of Delaware. Timothy Boyce serves as the Director of Delaware County's Department of Emergency. For medical emergencies, Delaware County utilizes and all dispatchers are trained in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). In that capacity, he serves as the County’s Emergency Manager and over sees operations of the 911 Center. The Delaware County Department of Emergency Services is a 24-hour emergency communications center and emergency management agency that is responsible for the 911 calls of 48 municipalities spread across 184 square miles in Delaware County. These calls can be related to the necessity of police, fire or emergency medical services. Delaware County Emergency Communications Center, also known as, Delaware County E911, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is responsible for answering all 911 and non-emergency calls for the citizens of Delaware County, Indiana. Nearly 2,500 911 calls are answered each day for over 40 law enforcement agencies, 65 fire departments and 31 emergency medical services agencies. Communications personnel also dispatch Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services for the city of Muncie. Delco Dispatch provides up to the second emergency response information to EMTs, firefighters, and paramedics directly from the Delaware County 911 Center. There are 12 emergency services that are managed, including the Delaware County Citizen’s Corps.
